What browser settings do I need for Buchbinder.de?
To optimally display our rental vehicles, the internet pages were optimised for you at 1024x768 pixels. To be able to view our rental vehicles completely, you need Internet Explorer 6 or higher or Netscape Navigator Version 4 or higher with activated Javascript/style templates. It is also recommended that you install the Flash plug-in (this is done by default with the browsers named). Unfortunately, however, if you are using older browsers or browsers that do not support ECMA Script, Javascript and VBScript (for example, Opera), you will not be able to view our pages.
Can I view Buchbinder.de on my iPhone or Blackberry?
Yes, you can use our company home page with the latest Apple iPhones (for example, the iP Version 3G and 3Gs) and the Blackberry. The internet settings required for Buchbinder.de are already integrated in these devices (see above).
Why do I need a Flash plug-in to surf the Buchbinder.de site?
The Flash plug-in enables the browser to display Flash films. In most cases, Flash is already integrated in the browser. While you can view the Buchbinder pages without the Flash plug-in, you will not be able to view the films which show you our different models such as company cars and second-hand cars.
Booking: How does our online booking service work?
Are my personal details protected on Buchbinder.de?
Our online booking server guarantees the security of your transactions. This system is supported by SSL encryption technology (Secure Socket Layer). When you rent a vehicle on Buchbinder.de and enter your personal details, this technology protects you by encrypting every exchange between your computer and the server. It thus protects your important information.
When will I receive my booking confirmation?
Generally we will confirm your rental reservation, regardless of whether it is a saloon or an SUV, on the next working day. However if you would like to speed up this process in urgent cases, you can also contact us on our service hotline:

What conditions must I fulfil in order to book a rental vehicle?
If you would like to rent a vehicle, please note our terms and conditions with regard to minimum age and driver’s license.
-In general, the minimum age is 21 years. However, we do also have rental vehicles that require a higher minimum age.
-The driver must hold a driver’s license, and have held same for at least 2 years, that is valid for the vehicle to be rented.
These exceptions are highlighted accordingly on the relevant section of the website. This is why we have to ask you to enter your date of birth each time you query a price or make a booking. In the end, we would like to offer you only those vehicles that you are actually permitted to rent and drive under our terms and conditions. The rental: General information on pick-ups and returns
What documents must I present when I collect my rental vehicle?
To rent a vehicle from Buchbinder, please present your driver's license, a valid national identity card from an EU state (or a a passport which is still valid for at least one month from the date of hire.) and the means of payment. We accept all current, internationally recognised credit cards. For the vehicle categories Economy and Compact rental is possible upon presentation of a cash card, for all other groups, a credit card is required. These documents will ensure the smooth processing of your vehicle rental.
What age must I be to rent a vehicle?
To rent a vehicle from the Buchbinder fleet, you must be at least 21 years of age. For vehicles as of the medium class (category L4 cf. price list), you must be 24 years old. Only those persons driving company cars on behalf of their companies are excluded from this restriction.
What is included in the rental price?
Firstly, the Buchbinder rental price is based on the period of time for which you rent the vehicle. For special rates, offers and vehicle types, the price is also based on the kilometres driven. In principle, the rental price includes expenditure for oil consumption, maintenance and wearing part repairs and for third party, fire and theft insurance. The fuel costs must be borne by the renter. We offer our customers an in-house fuel service, the conditions for which can be viewed at our branch locations.
If we have to deal with parking tickets/traffic violations that come in subsequently, a supplementary charge shall be applied.
Can I also book one-way rentals with Buchbinder and what does it cost?
In principle, you can return your rental vehicle to any Buchbinder location across Germany; however this does depend on the selected tariff type. It is important that you agree a drop-off location with us in advance. However, should the rental vehicle be dropped off at a different location despite the agreement, we will charge a fee for incorrect drop-off location.
When must I pay for my rental vehicle?
The entire rental amount will be settled via your credit card when you return the vehicle.
Are all rental vehicles always available, regardless of the location?
Our rental vehicles, both the cars and the vans/trucks, are divided into different categories. When you opt to book a rental vehicle with Buchbinder, first book a vehicle category. On the one hand this should simplify the choice for you. On the other, it is possible in this way to offer several similar makes under the same conditions. Please understand that it is not possible to guarantee specific makes and vehicle features. However, we at Buchbinder will always endeavour to meet your requests so that you get your preferred rental vehicle.
Can I return my rental vehicle outside of opening hours?
During our office opening hours, our Buchbinder colleagues will accept the return of rental vehicles in person. If your planned drop-off time is outside business hours, please contact the location in question in order to discuss the return of your vehicle.
Insurance information that is worth knowing
What insurance protection do I have with a rental vehicle?
All our rental vehicles come with unlimited cover for third party, fire and theft. You will therefore enjoy great insurance protection with Buchbinder.de vehicles.
Can I share my rental vehicle with a second driver?
Only the person named in the rental contract is entitled to use the vehicle. If however the vehicle is to be used by several persons, an administration fee of € 5.00 shall be charged per day and rental contract. This does not apply to family members of the renter or to assigned company drivers.
What do I do if I experience problems with my rental vehicle?

What happens if I leave something in the rental vehicle?
Unfortunately we cannot accept any liability for items left in the vehicle.

Can I also book a car directly online?
Yes, you can rent a car directly on Buchbinder.de, by simply using the booking form at the top right of the location finder on our home page.
Can I also book a truck directly online?
As intensive consultancy is required when booking a truck, specifically regarding load dimensions and useful load, we can only accept booking queries for these vehicles by email.
If you send us your query on a working day between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., the location where you wish to pick up and/or drop-off your rental vehicle will deal with it directly. If the query is submitted outside of these hours, you will not receive an offer until the next working day. Please always note that we at Buchbinder.de can only make reservations for a vehicle category and not for a specific vehicle.
